Just got back from another buying trip in Chicago. Like the January trip to New York, the travel was the hardest part. Fifteen hours to get from Traverse City to LaGuardia! I could have walked! take off time getting later and later as a winter mix begins hitting the windows. Cancel that flight and hope you get home the next day!
Shoppers ask where we buy our clothes—Chicago and New York are our regular stops in addition to the regional show in Traverse City. I’ve also been to Atlanta and Dallas on occaision. Any time I travel I also try and visit local boutiques to see what they are carrying and how they do displays. If you see a line you think we ought to consider, please email me.
The big news for spring is color—neutrals are “fading” though you’ll still see soft browns. Look for bursts of bright lemon, orange, and turquoise. Watch for more skirts and ruffles. Feminine touches are in. We try to have something for most sizes and shapes in our store. We have some spring stuff in now but look for the bulk of it to arrive in April. Christy
